People’s annual list was revealed Wednesday, giving kudos to the ladies who know how to take the best of fashion and consistently spin it to fit their style.

Petite actress Reese Witherspoon made the list for “best short dresses,” like the green and silver Rodarte the 5-foot-2 star wore to the March premiere of “Monsters vs. Aliens.”

“I love that they included Reese Witherspoon in the Rodarte dress, because that was a big moment for Reese,” Gardner said. “Reese always looks great, but she’s never really stepped outside of classic dresses. Rodarte are the darlings of the fashion world; it’s directional fashion, and it’s a big deal for a celebrity like Reese to pick something like that.”

Reese Witherspoon paid for a woman’s groceries after she forgot her wallet.

The 33-year-old Hollywood star – who has two children with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe – took pity on a stressed mother at a Whole Foods store in Los Angeles by helping her out with her food bill.

A source said: “Reese knows that kids make you lose your mind. When she spotted a harried mom who had forgotten her wallet she picked up the tab.

“The woman was so flustered and embarrassed. But Reese said she would gladly take care of the $70 bill and no apology was necessary.

“She told the mom, ‘I understand, I have kids too!’ ”

Reese – who has a nine-year-old daughter Ava and son Deacon, five – is currently dating actor Jake Gyllenhaal.

Production in a major new movie, starring Oscar winners Reese Witherspoon and Jack Nicholson, was held up for a day after an actress in the film — currently called ‘Untitled James L. Brooks Project’ — unexpectedly went into labor prematurely at her hotel, and had to be rushed to the hospital, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Actress Kathryn Hahn (Crossing Jordan) — who plays a pregnant secretary in the film — is pregnant in real life. She went into labor after her water broke during filming Saturday.

On Monday morning, after a grueling two days of labor, Hahn reaped the fruits of her labor: Mae, a 5-pound girl.

Though her due date was originally projected as September, the unexpected birth doesn’t throw a monkey wrench into the plans of the film’s producers, who expected Hahn to give birth after filming wrapped — the actress had only one day left to film, and will finish the rest of her scenes when she has recovered.

The film also stars Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson.

Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon is tending chickens at her California ranch and has been handing out freshly laid eggs to her friends.

“The chickens are laying more eggs than she [Witherspoon] can eat, so Reese started giving eggs away to her neighbours, parents on the kids’ soccer team and all her friends,” a source is quoted as saying.

The 33-year-old, who has two kids with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe — daughter Ava (9) and son Deacon (5) — has earned an unusual nickname after buying the birds.

“Now all of Reese’s friends joke and call her the chicken lady,” added the source.

Reese Witherspoon turns down every raunchy script that comes her way – because she only wants her young daughter to see mum play strong women.

The Walk The Line star has no interest in baring all on film, and instead seeks out bold heroine roles in the hope of setting a good example for Ava, her nine-year-old daughter with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.

When asked about undressing for a role, Witherspoon told FoxNews.com, “I had my first baby when I was 23, so for me, no. I’ve always been choosing roles knowing that I have a daughter and I have a responsibility to her and to the world to be representing women of strength. These are the women I know in life.

“I think it’s a natural extension of parenthood for you to feel like you’re responsible for the worlds you create, whether they be silly or serious. I think you are responsible for the art you put in the world.”

It’s taken over a decade, but Jen Jack’s 1998 novel “Nice” may finally be making it to the big screen.

Variety reports Fox Searchlight has acquired the darkly comic subject matter as a starring vehicle for Reese Witherspoon. The Oscar winner will co-produce the project and first-time screenwriter Ben Queen, best known for creating the failed TV show “Drive,” will handle the adaptation. No director is on board at this time.

The original “Nice” was centered on a magazine writer who kills her boyfriend by accident. Hardly a melodrama, she discovers a way to get rid of the bod and comes to the realization that killing boyfriends is easier than breaking up with them.

The project was initially set up by Warner Bros. for Helen Hunt to star in, but the studio mistakenly tried to remove the darker elements and the project fell apart. Searchlight intends to be more faithful to the book.

“Nice” isn’t the only Fox Searchlight picture on Witherspoon’s agenda. She’s expected to star opposite Sacha Baron Cohen in Alexander Payne’s “Downsizing” which should land at the mini-major. Later this summer, Witherspoon should begin shooting with Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson in James L. Brooks’ new untitled comedy.
